I tried the same thing but with ac/battery combo, no power, and then I just tried the same thing with just AC power, still no power. My computer friend suggested that I de-charge the laptop to release charge inside mobo, I did hold it for about 10-50 secs, about 5 times, and stuck the battery in first, no power. The reason I need your guy's help is to figure out what piece "if any" I would need to replace in order to make this laptop turn on, or what steps should I take to start tackling this problem. I have access to sony's official laptop manual, and a disssasembly guide that I found online here Guide

I do have a power meter tool available, but I am not really sure where to start out in the motherboard. Since I have never worked on anything this small scale, I am afraid of breaking or tearing any of the small pieces that seem to reside beyond the keyboard-chasis pieces.

Since it is a power failure, I do not think bad software put the laptop in this sate, I am assuming that the last technician did not know what he was doing while re-assembling the computer and thus might of left something lose, or unconnected leading the laptop to be in this state. I am thinking that the laptop might have been re-assembled incorrectly, but the owner said that it was fine for about a month, and then the wifi-antenna had fallen out, and that's when it seemed to just not power on anymore, no LED lights. This laptop has a non sony vaio internal cd-drive in it, the owner said that it worked after a technician had installed it, but the new drive does not fit superbly in there, and is really snug, it also seems that the mounting bracket that is supposed to hold the original vaio cd drive is missing as-well. I have also checked the battery with the power meter tool, and found that it is practically dead, but of course it might of drained out when the circuit broke inside the computer denying charge to the battery. I am assuming this board supplies power from the power-board, I was expecting the LED light to turn on now, but it still did not work, I have not dived in deeper yet. To make sure that the connections where in place near the power button, I opened the laptop, and on the power-button circuit board I made sure to check that the connection from the motherboard to this power-button board where secure.

So this makes me to believe that there must be some sort of short or other break in the circuitry within this computer. Also noticed that the LED light was not lighting up in the front dash of the computer, where I would normally see a "yellow" light indicating that the AC power is indeed connected with the computer. Checked with a power meter tool the current on the battery itself, results came out positive, so it can't be the AC charger, but I might be wrong. I just got a Sony Vaio with the model number VGN-SZ280P, the problem is that it will not power on.
